Luckeciano Carvalho Melo is an Applied Scientist at Microsoft and an AI Researcher at Deep Learning Brazil with a strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Engineering and Deep Reinforcement Learning from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA, one of the top engineering schools in Brazil. With close to four years of relevant industry experience, Luckeciano has worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he designed and developed scalable, testable, and maintainable code. He has also managed deployment pipelines with CI/CD, developed and used cloud services, and gained experience with infrastructure and cluster orchestration. Luckeciano is a Researcher in the field of AI, with a particular focus on Deep Reinforcement Learning. His research interests lie in machine learning, especially in reinforcement learning and its applications in robotics, continuous control, and multi-agent systems. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of AI and is passionate about exploring new and innovative ways to apply machine learning to real-world problems. At Microsoft, Luckeciano is working with Representation Learning and NLP for the Index Generation team at Bing. His previous role at Microsoft was as a Software Engineer in the Data and Integration Services team at Dynamics 365 F&O, where he built microservices that enabled data transfer and processing from SQL databases to Azure Data Lake at scale. In addition to his industry experience, Luckeciano has also worked as a Student Ambassador for Artificial Intelligence at Intel. As part of the Intel® AI Developer Program, he had access to newly optimized frameworks and technologies, hands-on training, and technical resources for graduate and PhD students from top universities worldwide to further innovation in AI. Luckeciano's technical skills include Research Scientist, Reinforcement Learning, AI, Deep Learning, NLP, SQL, CI/CD, ML, infra, Microservices, DevOps, Azure, and Integration. He has a strong track record of delivering high-quality, scalable code for asynchronous, distributed, and multi-threaded applications in the context of SaaS in the cloud.
